A sample of massive colorless quartz penetrated by elongate columnar crystals of tourmalines, which reach up to 3.5 cm in size. The predominant variety of tourmaline in this sample is verdelite, which often transitions into pink rubellite, and some tourmalines are so zonal. This is an example of tourmalines from the world-famous pegmatite locality Rožná Hradisko, Czech Republic.
